A 42-year-old Selden man was arrested Saturday evening after police received reports of a boat operating erratically and nearly striking several vessels in Shinnecock Inlet, according to Southampton Town Police.
Michael Pruessen was charged with operating a vessel while intoxicated following the incident on Oct. 10.
Police said marine patrol officers received a report that a 23-foot Grady White boat was being operated erratically and had nearly collided with multiple vessels.
Officers located the boat and escorted it to the Coast Guard station, where Pruessen was subsequently arrested.
Pruessen was charged with operating a vessel while intoxicated.
