Nassau County police are asking for the public’s help locating a man wanted on a felony assault charge connected to an incident in Westbury.
According to the Nassau County Police Department’s weekly #MugshotMonday posting, Franklin Avila is wanted for felony assault and acting in a manner that injures a child less than 17 years old.
Police said the alleged incident occurred in Westbury.
Avila is described as a 40-year-old Hispanic man standing 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
Police are urging anyone with information about Avila’s whereabouts not to approach or attempt to detain him. Instead, anyone with information is asked to contact the Nassau County Police Department. Tips can be submitted anonymously by sending the department a message through its official channels.
The investigation remains ongoing.
