Suffolk County police are renewing calls for information in the 2023 killing of a 20-year-old West Babylon man whose remains were found off the Southern State Parkway months after he disappeared.
Isaiah Henriquez was last seen on April 8, 2023, after leaving a house party on Brentwood Road in Brentwood. Investigators said he took a rideshare to the Poospatuck Reservation in Mastic that evening. His family reported him missing the following day.
Three months later, on July 13, 2023, a driver discovered human skeletal remains in a wooded area off an exit ramp near the southbound Robert Moses Causeway in the Town of Islip. Authorities said the remains were located roughly 100 feet from the roadway.
State Police later confirmed the remains belonged to Henriquez. The case has since been classified as a homicide, though officials have not released details about how he was killed.
Police have not announced any arrests, and the circumstances surrounding Henriquez’s death remain unclear. The distance between where he was last seen in Brentwood and where he was dropped off in Mastic—more than 20 miles away—has been a key point in the investigation. Authorities also noted his phone stopped communicating shortly after that trip.
Each year, the Suffolk County Police Department highlights unsolved cases during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week in an effort to generate new leads and bring attention to victims still awaiting justice. Henriquez’s case is among those being revisited as part of that initiative.
The investigation remains active.
