Nassau County police are seeking a 36-year-old woman in connection with an Elmont shoplifting case involving more than $1,000 in property.
Police identified the woman as Sophia Jean Pierre and said she is wanted for fourth-degree grand larceny.
Police described Pierre as a Black woman, 5 feet 8 inches tall and about 250 pounds, with multicolored hair and brown eyes.
Authorities did not provide additional details about the alleged theft.
Police warned the public not to attempt to apprehend or detain Pierre. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact Nassau County police. The department said messages can be forwarded anonymously.
