Middle-earth is returning to Long Island in a big way. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Fathom Events and Warner Bros. are rereleasing all three extended editions of Peter Jackson’s trilogy this January. Unlike many specialty rereleases that offer only scattered showtimes, Long Island is getting a full slate of screenings across both Suffolk and Nassau counties.
The Lord of the Rings extended editions, together clocking in at nearly an epic 12 hours, will screen over two weekends. Below are the confirmed Long Island theaters participating.

With five theaters across Long Island running the entire trilogy, this is one of the strongest regional Lord of the Rings rereleases in the state.

As part of the 25th-anniversary theatrical run, Fathom Entertainment revealed a set of limited-edition concession vessels to make the rerelease feel like a real event. At participating AMC Theatres locations, you’ll be able to pick up a special Collectible Map Tin complete with a Quest Magnet Set. Fans going to Regal Cinemas, or select independent theatres, will have a chance to grab a “One Ring”-themed popcorn bucket. Availability is limited and tied to participating theaters only, so it’s worth checking your local listings before you go.
For longtime viewers, this is a chance to revisit the films as they were experienced in the early 2000s—longer, deeper, and surrounded by fellow adventurers. For first-timers, it’s a rare opportunity to witness the extended editions on a full theater screen instead of a living-room marathon.
Tickets are on sale now through local theaters.
