Lake Ronkonkoma Man Pleads Guilty to Giving Teen Cocaine in Exchange for Sex

Mugshot of Luis Gonzalez, 23, of Lake Ronkonkoma, who pleaded guilty to selling drugs to an underage girl and providing cocaine in exchange for sex.

A 23-year-old Lake Ronkonkoma man has pleaded guilty to supplying drugs to an underage girl for more than two years and giving her cocaine in exchange for sex when she could not afford to pay, Suffolk County prosecutors announced Thursday.

Luis Gonzalez pleaded guilty Wednesday, Oct. 14, to criminal sale of a controlled substance to a child, aggravated patronizing a minor for prostitution and third-degree rape, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney.

Prosecutors said Gonzalez began selling marijuana and vape products to the girl in January 2023, when she was 13 years old. The sales continued through September 2025.

Gonzalez later began offering the girl cocaine for free before she started purchasing the drug from him, according to court documents and his admissions during his guilty plea.

When the girl did not have enough money to pay for cocaine, Gonzalez suggested she perform sexual acts with him instead, prosecutors said.

On Sept. 16, 2025, Gonzalez provided the girl with cocaine in exchange for sexual intercourse, according to the district attorney’s office.

Gonzalez was arrested Nov. 14, 2025, after the girl’s family reported him to authorities.

“This defendant targeted a child, first with marijuana and vapes and then with cocaine, using her dependence on drugs to exploit her for his own benefit,” Tierney said. “He has now admitted that conduct in open court and will be held accountable.”

Gonzalez entered his guilty plea before Acting Supreme Court Justice Karen M. Wilutis. He pleaded guilty to criminal sale of a controlled substance to a child, a class B felony, and aggravated patronizing a minor for prostitution in the third degree and rape in the third degree, both class E felonies.

He is expected to receive four years in prison followed by 10 years of post-release supervision when he returns to court Nov. 19. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.

Gonzalez is represented by attorney John Caffrey.

The case was investigated by the Suffolk County Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Alexandra Raso of the Hate Crimes, Elder Abuse, Anti-Bias, Human Trafficking Unit and Jacob Kubetz of the Narcotics Bureau.

Authorities are asking anyone who believes they or their child may have been victimized by Gonzalez to contact Suffolk County Police at 631-854-8451.
