A Hicksville man was arrested after police said a 40-year-old man paid $9,500 to a company for debt relief assistance, but none of his debts were satisfied.
Nitin Pal Singh, 43, of 64 Gardner Ave., was charged with third-degree grand larceny following an investigation by the Nassau County Police Department’s Electronics Squad Fraud & Forgery Section.
Police said the alleged scheme began on Aug. 15, 2025, when the victim was contacted by a company called Wavepayz and offered debt relief assistance.
The victim agreed and was instructed to make a $9,500 payment to Purzue Care Inc., located at 64 Gardner Ave. in Hicksville, according to detectives.
Police said the company was supposed to negotiate terms with the victim’s creditors after receiving the payment. Detectives said none of the victim’s debts were satisfied.
The victim reported the incident to police in March 2026.
Following an investigation, detectives arrested Singh.
Singh is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday, Aug. 13, at First District Court in Hempstead.
