Georgia Man Arrested After Loaded Gun With High-Capacity Magazine Found During East Garden City Traffic Stop

A Georgia man was arrested Thursday after Nassau County police said officers recovered a loaded firearm with a high-capacity magazine during a traffic stop in East Garden City.

According to Nassau County police, Third Squad officers conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law investigation involving a 2026 Mercedes at approximately 5:39 p.m. on June 25 near the intersection of Zeckendorf Boulevard and East Gate Boulevard.

During the investigation, officers allegedly discovered a loaded firearm equipped with a high-capacity magazine inside the vehicle.

The driver, identified as Sarabjeet Singh, 47, of Rome, Georgia, was taken into custody without incident.

Singh is charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, and numerous Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.

He was scheduled to be arraigned Friday, June 26, at First District Court in Hempstead.

As with all criminal cases, the charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
