INWOOD, NY — A Far Rockaway man was arrested after police said he robbed two 15-year-old boys of an e-bike at gunpoint Saturday night in Inwood.

Lavon Smith, 26, of Far Rockaway, was arrested following the robbery, which occurred near Bayview Avenue at about 9:34 p.m. Aug. 29, Nassau County police said.

According to detectives, the two teens were riding an e-bike when a man approached them, displayed a handgun and demanded the bike.

Smith was charged with first-degree robbery, two counts of first-degree criminal use of a firearm, second- and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and second-degree menacing.

Police said Smith was scheduled to be arraigned Sunday, Aug. 30, at First District Court in Hempstead.
