MANHASSET, NY — A Queens man was arrested after police said he punched two nurses while he was a patient at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset.
Nassau County police said officers responded to the hospital at 300 Community Drive at about 3:37 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, following a report of an assault.
Detectives said the patient, identified as Oshane Bernard, 36, of Oakland Gardens, became agitated and struck two nurses with a closed fist.
Both nurses are 29-year-old women, according to police. They were evaluated by hospital staff at the scene.
Responding officers arrested Bernard without incident, police said.
Bernard was charged with two counts of second-degree assault. Police said he will be arraigned when medically practical.
