MASTIC, NY — A 33-year-old Lake Ronkonkoma man was charged with murder after police said he fatally stabbed his father inside a Mastic apartment early Monday.
Edward Brown called 911 at approximately 12:30 a.m. Sept. 7 and reported that he had been stabbed at his apartment at 73 Mastic Blvd., according to Suffolk County police.
Police and personnel from the Mastic Volunteer Ambulance Company responded and attempted life-saving measures. Brown was pronounced dead at the scene.
A short time later, Brown’s son, Sage Arias-Brown, was arrested. Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives charged Arias-Brown with second-degree murder.
Arias-Brown was being held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 8 at First District Court in Central Islip.
