A Riverhead man was arrested Friday after an Internet Crimes Against Children tip led Suffolk County police detectives to execute a search warrant at his home, authorities said.
Josue Duran, 33, was arrested Sept. 4 at his residence on Duryea Street in Riverhead, according to Suffolk County police.
Police said Digital Forensic Unit detectives obtained the search warrant following a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Program. Detectives seized multiple cellphones during the search.
Duran was charged with possessing a sexual performance by a child and promoting a sexual performance by a child.
He was scheduled to be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.
Police asked anyone with information about Internet Crimes Against Children cases to contact the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children hotline at 1-800-843-5678 or Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

The charges are accusations, and Duran is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
