2 Employees Arrested After Underage Alcohol Sales at East Moriches Gas Stations

Two employees were arrested after underage police agents were sold alcohol during inspections at two East Moriches gas stations on Wednesday, Aug. 19, Suffolk County Police said.

Seventh Precinct Crime Section officers inspected five businesses in response to community complaints and found two were not in compliance, according to police.

Police said underage agents purchased alcoholic beverages from employees at the two stores.

Neval Efecik, 52, of East Patchogue, an employee of the Wave gas station at 476 Montauk Highway, was arrested and charged with unlawfully dealing with a child in the first degree.

Shannon Schnoll, 50, of Medford, an employee of the Valero gas station at 620 Montauk Highway, was also arrested and charged with unlawfully dealing with a child in the first degree.

Both were issued field appearance tickets and are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.

The charges are accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
