Woman Arrested for DWI After Motorcyclist Dies in Lindenhurst Crash

A 28-year-old woman was arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge following a crash that killed a motorcyclist in Lindenhurst early Wednesday morning, Suffolk County police said.

The crash occurred at Montauk Highway and Chestnut Street at approximately 1:42 a.m. on Aug. 5.

Carlos Henao, 33, of Massapequa, was riding a 2019 Harley-Davidson westbound on Montauk Highway when he attempted to pass two vehicles traveling in the same direction, police said.

The motorcycle struck the rear of a 2019 Dodge Ram and a 2023 Honda CR-V after the vehicles moved into the right lane, according to police. Henao was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police arrested the Honda driver, Brieonna McGinn, 28, of Massapequa, on a driving while intoxicated charge.

McGinn was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Central Islip.

All three vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Detectives asked anyone with information about the crash to contact the Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit at 631-852-6555.

A criminal charge is an accusation. McGinn is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
