Two men were arrested after Nassau County police said officers seized six illegal electronic gambling machines and $1,666 during inspections at two Roosevelt businesses.
The arrests came during a quality-of-life initiative conducted Monday, July 6, 2026, in Roosevelt, police said.
Strategic Response Team officers conducted a licensed premises inspection at Good Food & Shake, located at 90 Nassau Road, where police said they found two illegal electronic gambling machines.
Officers seized the machines and recovered $1,276 in cash, police said.
Erick Hernandez Martinez, 33, of Freeport, was charged with possession of gambling devices, unlicensed public assembly, disorderly premise and operating without a valid New York State liquor license.
Police also inspected Stop & Go Food Market, located at 135 Babylon Turnpike, where officers said they found four hidden illegal electronic gambling machines.
Those machines were seized, and officers recovered $390 in cash, police said.
Rafael Rodriguez, 63, of Uniondale, was charged with possession of gambling devices, unlicensed public assembly and disorderly premise.
Both defendants were released on appearance tickets and are due back in First District Court on July 20, 2026.
