Massapequa Man Charged After Police Recover Illegal Firearm During Domestic Dispute

A Massapequa man is facing multiple weapons charges after Nassau County police recovered an unlawfully owned firearm while responding to a verbal domestic dispute Thursday night.

According to Nassau County police, officers responded to a Massapequa residence at approximately 10:38 p.m. on June 25 for a reported verbal dispute.

During their investigation, officers determined that one of the individuals involved, Gregory Greene, 60, of Massapequa, unlawfully possessed a firearm. Police recovered the weapon and arrested Greene without incident.

Authorities said the firearm was not used during the dispute.

According to Nassau County District Court records, Greene is charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, and Menacing in the Second Degree.

Greene pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on June 26. He was released under non-monetary conditions, and the court issued a temporary order of protection.

His next court appearance is scheduled for July 6 in Nassau County District Court.
