Nassau County police are asking for the public’s help locating a man wanted in connection with a fraud investigation in Franklin Square.
As part of the department’s ongoing #MugshotMonday initiative, investigators identified the suspect as Joseph Ahearne, 36, who is wanted on a charge of Scheme to Defraud in the First Degree.
According to police, the charge involves allegedly obtaining property valued at more than $1,000 from one or more individuals. The incident under investigation occurred in Franklin Square.
Police described Ahearne as a white male with brown hair and brown eyes. He is approximately 5-foot-11 and 160 pounds.
Authorities urged anyone with information regarding Ahearne’s whereabouts not to approach or attempt to detain him.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Nassau County Police Department. Messages can be submitted anonymously through the department.
The investigation remains ongoing.
