A Glen Cove man has been sentenced to 20 years to life in prison for his role in the kidnapping and murder of a Central Islip man who prosecutors said was killed after parking outside a Bay Shore home.
Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced Tuesday that Christpher Perdomo, 29, was sentenced for his involvement in the 2022 killing of 29-year-old Linver Ortiz Ponce.
Prosecutors said the violence began late on Sept. 17, 2022, when Ortiz Ponce parked his red Chevrolet Camaro outside the Fifth Avenue home of co-defendant Kayla Alvarenga in Bay Shore.
Authorities said Alvarenga confronted Ortiz Ponce and demanded that he move the vehicle. Prosecutors said she later contacted Perdomo and several teenage co-defendants, directing them to come to her home and remove the victim.

Investigators said Ortiz Ponce escaped and ran to a nearby gas station, where he attempted to hide. Prosecutors said Alvarenga then directed the group to track him down, abduct him, and kill him.
Surveillance video captured Ortiz Ponce being forced at gunpoint into the stolen BMW at the gas station, according to authorities.
Prosecutors said the group then drove to a church parking lot, where Ortiz Ponce was beaten again. Authorities said Alvarenga ordered Perdomo to shoot the victim. Ortiz Ponce was shot multiple times as he attempted to crawl away.
After the killing, investigators said the group abandoned Ortiz Ponce’s Camaro in a wooded area of Smithtown and left the stolen BMW in Brentwood before returning to Alvarenga’s home in a rideshare vehicle. Prosecutors said items from the victim’s wallet were later divided among members of the group.
Perdomo previously pleaded guilty in September 2025 to first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, second-degree robbery, and criminal possession of a weapon.
The sentencing comes just weeks after Alvarenga, 23, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole following her March 2026 conviction on charges including first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, second-degree robbery, and conspiracy.

According to prosecutors, seven co-defendants participated in the kidnapping and murder. Suffolk County prosecutors said all participants connected to the killing have now been sentenced.
District Attorney Tierney described the case as a deadly escalation of a minor dispute over parking.
The case was investigated by Suffolk County Police homicide detectives and prosecuted by the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office Homicide Bureau.
