Nassau County police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person accused of posing as a real estate agent and stealing $7,200 from a victim in a Syosset rental scam.
According to Crime Stoppers, the incident occurred on March 4, 2024, at approximately 6:40 p.m. on Willetts Avenue. Authorities said the suspect fraudulently rented a home to the victim while pretending to be a legitimate agent.
Police said the victim handed over money as part of the arrangement, only to later discover the listing and transaction were not legitimate. The victim suffered a financial loss of $7,200.
The suspect remains unidentified. Police released an image of the individual and are urging anyone who recognizes the person or has information about the incident to come forward.
