Manorville Man Accused of Causing $416K in Damage After Driving Vehicle Across Golf Course

A Manorville man has been arrested and charged in connection with more than $400,000 in damage to a local golf course caused when he allegedly drove a vehicle onto the property during two separate incidents in 2025, Suffolk County police said.

Joseph Manzella, 24, of Manorville, was taken into custody on April 24 at a residence on Dawn Drive in Shirley following an investigation into the damage at Pine Hills Golf and Country Club.

According to police, the golf course, located on Country Club Drive in Manorville, was vandalized on January 13 and again on October 11, 2025, when a vehicle was driven across the property, causing extensive destruction. Authorities estimate the total damage at $416,500.

Manzella has been charged with two counts of Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, both felony offenses.

The investigation was conducted by officers from the Seventh Precinct Crime Section along with Seventh Squad detectives, who linked Manzella to both incidents.

Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree is a felony under New York law and typically involves intentionally causing significant property damage, often exceeding $1,500.

Manzella is being held at the Seventh Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned on April 25 at First District Court in Central Islip.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
