Smith Haven Mall Suspect Sought for $260 Theft at Dick’s Sporting Goods

Suffolk County police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man wanted in connection with a petit larceny at Dick’s Sporting Goods at the Smith Haven Mall last month.

According to Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Fourth Precinct Crime Section officers, the suspect allegedly stole merchandise from Dick’s Sporting Goods, located at 620 Smith Haven Mall, on March 10 at approximately 5 p.m.

Investigators said the man took a pair of cleats valued at about $260 before leaving the store. No additional details about the suspect have been released.

The case is being investigated as petit larceny, a misdemeanor offense under New York law that involves the theft of property.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for tips that lead to an arrest.
