What started as a verbal dispute in a Huntington Station parking lot quickly turned destructive.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Second Precinct Crime Section officers are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a man who allegedly damaged a vehicle outside the 7-Eleven at 328 Depot Road.
Police said the incident happened on March 2 at about 5:20 p.m. after a confrontation in the store’s parking lot. At some point during the dispute, the man allegedly punched the mirror of a vehicle, damaging it.
Then he was gone.
According to police, the man fled the scene in a black pickup truck headed south on Depot Road, leaving investigators trying to track down who he was.
Now, authorities are hoping someone in the area recognizes the suspect or the truck and comes forward.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information can submit an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-220-TIPS, using the P3 Tips app, or visiting P3Tips.com. All calls, texts, and emails will be kept confidential.
As always, a charge or investigation is an accusation, and the suspect is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
