INWOOD, N.Y. — Two Brooklyn men were arrested early Wednesday after Nassau County police said officers recovered a loaded 9mm handgun during a traffic stop in Inwood.
Boubacar Sy, 41, and Darnell Williams, 42, were arrested following the stop at about 1:03 a.m. on Aug. 19, according to Nassau County police.

Police said Fourth Precinct officers were on patrol when they saw a black 2014 Toyota Camry SE traveling south on the Nassau Expressway with a defective license plate lamp.
Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens and stopped the vehicle near Wanser Avenue.
During the investigation, police said officers recovered an illegal loaded silver and black SCCY CPX-2 9mm handgun from inside the vehicle.
Sy, who police identified as the driver, and Williams, a passenger, were arrested without further incident.
Sy was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm and multiple vehicle and traffic law violations.
Williams was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Both defendants are Brooklyn residents, according to police.
Sy and Williams were scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
