Suffolk County Police have arrested three people in connection with a robbery at a Lake Grove clothing store that left a teenage employee injured.

According to police, three adults accompanied by two small children entered EPIC Outfitters, located inside Smith Haven Mall, on January 13 at approximately 6:48 p.m. Investigators say the group removed assorted clothing and left the store without paying.

As the suspects exited the store, a 17-year-old employee attempted to intervene and was struck multiple times in the face, police said. The suspects then fled the mall in a vehicle. The employee was treated at the scene and declined further medical attention.

Following an investigation by Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives, First Precinct Patrol officers spotted two of the suspects the next day driving a 2015 Chrysler on Oregon Road in West Babylon. After a traffic stop on January 14, Nyrell Hernandez, 26, and Sheyanna Bussi, 23, were taken into custody and transported to the Fourth Precinct. The two children present during the robbery were also in the vehicle and were later released into the custody of family members.

Police arrested the third suspect, Kyndrell Adams, 21, on January 20 at First District Court.

Hernandez, Bussi, and Adams, all of 7 Gordon Ave. in West Babylon, are each charged with Robbery in the Second Degree, a Class C felony, and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a misdemeanor.

Hernandez and Bussi were arraigned on January 15 at First District Court in Central Islip. Adams is being held at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned on January 21 at First District Court.
