A Flushing man was seriously injured Saturday morning in a three-vehicle crash on Route 25A in Shoreham, according to Suffolk County Police.
Police said the crash happened near Defense Hill Road near Shoreham-Wading River High School at approximately 9:32 a.m. when Jianhua Zhou, 45, was driving a 2014 Toyota Sienna eastbound on Route 25A. Investigators said the Toyota struck the rear of a 2010 Ford Transit, causing the Ford to leave the roadway and crash into several trees.
Authorities said the Toyota then continued eastbound and collided with a westbound 2023 Ford.
Zhou was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries, police said.
The driver of the Ford Transit, Lawrence Lederer, 36, of Miller Place, and passenger Bryan Wilson, 37, of Rocky Point, were not injured in the crash, according to police.
The driver of the westbound 2023 Ford, Piotr Ratkiewicz, 57, of Port Jefferson, was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
All three vehicles were impounded for safety checks as Seventh Squad detectives continue the investigation.
