Pittsburgh Man Arrested in Westbury, New Cassel Catalytic Converter Thefts

A Pittsburgh man currently incarcerated in Suffolk County has been arrested in connection with the theft of catalytic converters from two vehicles in Westbury and New Cassel, Nassau County police said.

Madinson Silverio Ventura, 27, was charged following an investigation into two incidents reported on Nov. 13, 2025.

Police responded to separate 911 calls at homes on Jefferson Street in Westbury and Siegel Street in New Cassel. Officers determined that someone had damaged vehicles at both locations and removed their catalytic converters, according to detectives.

The suspect left both locations before officers arrived.

Following an investigation, police identified Ventura and arrested him without incident. Nassau police said Ventura, of Carson Street in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is currently incarcerated in Suffolk County while awaiting trial in connection with a similar incident.

Ventura was charged with two counts each of third-degree criminal mischief, third-degree auto stripping and petit larceny.

He was scheduled to be arraigned Monday, July 6, at First District Court in Hempstead.
