In a galaxy not so far away (your local grocery store), OREO and Lucasfilm have joined forces to launch Special Edition Star Wars OREO Cookies. Fans can determine if they’re destined for the light side or dark side of the Force by opening a pack of these themed cookies.
Starting May 30th, presales for the Special Edition Star Wars OREO Cookie Packs will be available at OREO.com/StarWars, with a nationwide rollout beginning June 10th, according to a press release. These packs, featuring either dark side or light side characters, will be available for a limited time.
Choose Your Destiny
Each pack contains a surprise: you’ll find either red creme representing the dark side or blue creme for the light side, each infused with a lightsaber kyber (sugar) crystals. The cookies are embossed with characters like Darth Vader, Darth Maul and a stormtrooper for the dark side pack, or Luke Skywalker, Yoda, and Princess Leia for the light side pack, with 10 characters each across the two varieties of the cookie packs — 20 characters total.
The packaging art for these special cookies is a nod to the Star Wars franchise, featuring original character artwork by legendary illustrator Greg Hildebrandt, known for his iconic Star Wars posters since 1977. It’s the perfect blend of sweet treats and stellar art.
