Man Steals $900 in Groceries from South Setauket Stop & Shop, Police Say

Suffolk County police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man accused of stealing hundreds of dollars in groceries from a South Setauket store last month.

According to police, the incident occurred at approximately 2:56 p.m. on April 27 at a Stop & Shop located at 260 Pond Path. Authorities said the suspect took about $900 worth of groceries before leaving the store.

The case is being investigated by Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and officers from the Sixth Precinct Crime Section, who released details Tuesday in an effort to locate the suspect.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.

The investigation is ongoing.
