An Elmont man who was apprehended in Florida has been extradited to New York and indicted in the 2023 shooting death of a 23-year-old man outside a Queens nightclub, prosecutors said.
Jhavaughn Pinnock, 35, was arraigned on charges including second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment in the killing of Jevaughn Jeminson outside Pure Lounge in St. Albans, according to the Queens County District Attorney’s Office.
Prosecutors allege Pinnock and a co-defendant were armed when they entered the nightclub and became involved in a confrontation with Jeminson.
After the confrontation moved outside, Pinnock allegedly fired multiple shots at Jeminson, then stood over him and fired additional rounds into his face and body, prosecutors said.
Jeminson suffered 11 gunshot wounds and died from his injuries.
Pinnock was arrested Aug. 20 in Hollywood, Florida, and later extradited to New York. He was ordered held without bail following his arraignment.
His co-defendant previously pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to 23 years in prison.
Pinnock faces up to 25 years to life in prison if convicted of the top charge.
