Bay Shore Man Murdered in LIRR Station Parking Lot, Police Say

A 34-year-old Bay Shore man was found unconscious in the parking lot of the Bay Shore Long Island Rail Road station early Sunday and later pronounced dead, Suffolk County police said.

Third Precinct officers were patrolling the area when they discovered Yolandus Pratt in the station’s north parking lot at 6 Railroad Plaza at approximately 2:30 a.m. on July 5. Police described Pratt as a victim of violence but did not release details about how he was injured.

Pratt was taken by ambulance to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the killing. Police did not announce any arrests or release information about a possible suspect.
