A Franklin Square woman was charged with DWI and vehicular assault after a crash Thursday night left a 39-year-old man critically injured, Nassau County police said.
Police said Guisela Garay, 24, was driving a Toyota near Franklin Avenue and Cloud Avenue in Franklin Square when it collided with a BMW.
The 39-year-old man driving the BMW suffered injuries to his legs and body and was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
Police said an investigation determined Garay was allegedly driving while intoxicated.
Garay was charged with driving while intoxicated, first-degree vehicular assault, second-degree vehicular assault and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
