A Great Neck man was arrested after police said he pushed a 76-year-old woman to the ground during an argument over his dog running onto her lawn Monday afternoon.
Michael Kane, 47, of Great Neck, is charged with second-degree assault, Nassau County police said.
Sixth Squad detectives said officers responded to a 911 call at about 4:15 p.m. Sept. 7 for a woman on the ground who needed an ambulance.
Police said the woman and Kane had been arguing about Kane’s dog running onto her lawn when the dispute escalated. Kane allegedly pushed the woman to the ground.
The woman suffered substantial pain along the left side of her body, including severe pain in her left hip, arm and leg, police said. She was taken to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Kane was arrested without incident, and no other injuries were reported.
He was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday, Sept. 8, at First District Court in Hempstead.
