Prosecutors Say Abuse of Bayport Girl Was Documented in Photos, Videos

Suffolk County prosecutors say they recovered extensive photos and videos allegedly documenting months of abuse and torture inflicted on a 7-year-old girl who later died in Bayport.

The material was allegedly recovered from cellphone and cloud-based accounts belonging to Emily Kelly, 50, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney’s office. Investigators said the evidence documented prolonged restraint, physical injuries, and a lack of medical care dating back to January 2025.

The investigation began after Kelly allegedly called 911 on Dec. 29, 2025, reporting that the child, identified as Jor’Dynn Duncan, was in cardiac arrest. The girl was transported to NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk, where she was pronounced dead.

An autopsy determined the 7-year-old died from a massive untreated infection caused by sharp force injuries, prosecutors said. The Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office documented approximately 90 injuries on her body at the time of her death.

Tierney announced indictments this week against Kelly, her mother Barbara Renner, 75, and Kelly’s daughter Elyssa Seymore, 24, in connection with the child’s death.

Kelly was charged with second-degree murder and other related offenses. Renner was charged with manslaughter, while Seymore was charged with unlawful imprisonment and child endangerment-related counts.

Prosecutors allege the child suffered months of abuse while in Kelly’s care after being placed there by Child Protective Services in December 2024. Kelly later gained full custody and guardianship of the child in April 2025, according to prosecutors.

All three defendants were arraigned Wednesday and are scheduled to return to court on June 23, 2026. Prosecutors noted the charges are accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
