Nassau County police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted in connection with a shoplifting incident and related drug charges in North Lawrence.
Authorities identified the suspect as Osvin Valiente, who is wanted for shoplifting, petit larceny, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. The incident occurred in North Lawrence, according to police.
Investigators released a mugshot and description of Valiente as part of their ongoing effort to locate him. He is described as a 24-year-old Hispanic male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Police did not release additional details about the alleged theft or the circumstances surrounding the controlled substance charge.
The case remains active, and authorities are urging anyone with information about Valiente’s whereabouts to come forward. Tips can be submitted directly to Nassau County Police, and all information will be kept confidential.
Anyone who sees the suspect is advised not to approach him and to contact law enforcement immediately.
