Hicksville Man Arrested After Biting Neighbor During Violent Street Fight

What started as an argument on a Hicksville street turned into something far more disturbing.

Police say officers rushed to Burns Avenue on Thursday night, March 26, after reports of a disturbance outside a home. At first, it was just another neighborhood dispute. But within moments, it spiraled into a violent confrontation that left a 68-year-old man brutally injured.

According to detectives, 21-year-old Alejandro Adorno became involved in a heated argument with the older man. The situation quickly escalated.

Authorities say Adorno began punching the victim repeatedly with a closed fist, knocking him to the ground. But it didn’t stop there.

In a shocking turn, police say Adorno then bit the victim on the ear and arm during the attack.

Officers took Adorno into custody at the scene without incident. Both the victim and Adorno were transported to nearby hospitals for evaluation and treatment.

The violence, unfolding in what is typically a quiet residential area of Hicksville, has left neighbors shaken by how quickly things escalated.

Adorno is now charged with first- and second-degree assault. He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
