Four people were arrested Friday during an inspection of a Huntington Station deli where Suffolk County police said officers observed gambling devices and unlicensed on-site liquor consumption, while two men were allegedly found with cocaine.
Second Precinct Crime Section officers conducted the Sept. 25 inspection at Honduras Deli, 1962 New York Ave., with the New York State Liquor Authority, Town of Huntington Fire Marshal and Town of Huntington Ordinance Inspector.
Police said the inspection followed community complaints. Officers allegedly saw customers using gambling devices and drinking liquor inside the deli, which police said is not licensed for on-site liquor consumption.
Jose Turcios, 78, of East Northport, was charged with promoting gambling, possession of gambling devices, second-degree criminal nuisance and two counts of ABC Law disorderly premises. Police said he also received two New York State Liquor Authority violations.
Jose Camachocortes, 52, of Huntington Station, was allegedly found with a large quantity of cocaine. He was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Juan Zepeda, 41, of Huntington Station, was found to have an active warrant, police said. He was also charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Hector Suazo, 41, of Huntington Station, was allegedly found with cocaine and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Turcios was issued a desk appearance ticket and Suazo received a field appearance ticket. Both are scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
Camachocortes and Zepeda were held overnight at the Second Precinct and were scheduled to be arraigned Saturday, Sept. 26, at First District Court in Central Islip.
The Town of Huntington Fire Marshal and Town Building Inspector also issued multiple violations for alleged fire code and building ordinance infractions.
The Liquor Authority and Town of Huntington officials are continuing their investigation.
The charges are accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
