A 21-year-old man was injured after multiple people allegedly opened fire on a vehicle in North Bay Shore on Sunday afternoon, according to Suffolk County Police.
Police said four people were traveling in a vehicle near Stein Drive and Belgrave Avenue at approximately 3:30 p.m. on June 7 when several individuals exited another vehicle and fired shots into their car. The 21-year-old victim was struck during the gunfire.
The driver of the vehicle then flagged down a police officer on Fifth Avenue in North Bay Shore. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that police said were not life-threatening.
Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are continuing to investigate the shooting. No arrests have been announced.
