Huntington Village is rolling out the red carpet—well, more like rolling up the parking spots—as Steven Spielberg sets the scene for his latest sci-fi venture, The Dish. From March 3 through March 5, several streets and municipal lots will be off-limits to parking to accommodate the film’s production.
Parking Plot Twist
According to Long Island Business News, the Town of Huntington has issued advisories and posted signs to alert drivers and businesses about the temporary parking restrictions. Here’s the lowdown:
-
Closed Lots:
- New Street parking lot
- Chase Bank parking lot on Woodbury Road
- Closure Period: 6 p.m. on Monday, March 3, through 6 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5
-
No-Parking Zones:
- Elm Street
- New York Avenue
- West Carver Street
- Main Street
To ease the parking pinch, the town is lifting metered parking and passport parking fees in Huntington Village on Tuesday, March 4. So, while Spielberg’s crew captures extraterrestrial drama, you can enjoy some terrestrial free parking.
Lights, Camera, UFOs!
The Dish marks Spielberg’s return to the sci-fi genre, exploring themes of human curiosity and the unknown. The film is penned by David Koepp, known for his collaborations with Spielberg on Jurassic Park and War of the Worlds.
The stellar cast includes:
- Emily Blunt – Recently seen in Oppenheimer and Pain Hustlers.
- Josh O’Connor – Known for his role in The Crown.
- Colin Firth – The ever-dapper Oscar winner.
- Eve Hewson – Bringing her unique flair to the ensemble.
- Colman Domingo – Who confessed that the script moved him to tears, calling it “one of the most beautiful scripts about our humanity.”
- Wyatt Russell – Adding his dynamic presence to the mix.
Filming kicked off in February 2025, with locations spanning New Jersey, Atlanta, New York City, and our very own Huntington. The production is operating under the working title Non-View, perhaps to keep those UFOs under wraps.
Release Radar
Universal Pictures has slated The Dish for a June 12, 2026 release. So, mark your calendars for what promises to be a cinematic close encounter of the Spielberg kind.
As Huntington transforms into a Hollywood hub, keep your eyes peeled—you might just spot a star (or a spaceship).
