A Freeport man was arrested after a 5-year-old girl saw him exposing his genitals while she was shopping with her mother at a Marshalls, Nassau County police said.
Rory Anderson, 32, of Freeport, was charged with public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child following an investigation by the Nassau County Police Department’s Special Victims Squad and Freeport police.
Police said the girl and her mother were shopping at the Marshalls at 256 E. Sunrise Highway in Freeport at about 8:30 p.m. July 29 when the child noticed an unknown man exposing his genitals.
The girl immediately told her mother, who contacted police, detectives said.
Following an investigation, police identified Anderson as the suspect and arrested him without incident.
Anderson was scheduled to be arraigned Friday, Sept. 4, at First District Court in Hempstead.
Detectives are asking anyone who believes they may also have been victimized by Anderson to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911. Police said all callers will remain anonymous.
