Good Samaritan Nurse’s Aide Accused of Abusing 15-Year-Old Patient in West Islip

A nurse’s aide at Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip was arrested Friday after police said he sexually abused a 15-year-old girl who was a patient at the hospital.

Suffolk County police said Trever Lauriano, 36, of Wyandanch, is accused of abusing the girl Aug. 3 inside the hospital’s behavioral health unit at 1000 Montauk Highway.

Police said another hospital employee called 911 to report the alleged abuse.

Special Victims Section detectives investigated and determined Lauriano, who worked as a nurse’s aide, allegedly abused the teenager while she was a patient, according to police.

Lauriano was arrested Aug. 21 and charged with third-degree sexual abuse, forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was scheduled to be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.

A criminal charge is an accusation. Lauriano is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
