Police Seek Woman Accused of Defacing St. Michael Statue at North New Hyde Park School

NORTH NEW HYDE PARK, NY — Nassau County police are searching for a woman accused of defacing a St. Michael statue at Notre Dame Elementary School in North New Hyde Park.

The incident happened at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, at the school at 25 Mayfair Road, according to police.

Detectives said the woman entered the property and defaced the statue before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction.

Police described the woman as white. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt and blue jeans and carrying a suitcase.

The Nassau County Police Department’s Third Squad is investigating the incident as criminal mischief.
