Nassau County police have provided an update in a home burglary and robbery investigation involving residences in Jericho and Manhasset, announcing the arrests of two additional defendants.
Joel Valladares-Gutierrez, 18, of Queens, and Peng Zhou, 33, were arrested in connection with the case, which previously resulted in charges against four other defendants, including a juvenile.
Police said the defendants entered multiple residences and stole jewelry, designer handbags, credit cards and U.S. currency.
Valladares-Gutierrez is charged with first-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, second-degree burglary and fourth-degree criminal mischief. He was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead.
Zhou, whose residence was not provided by police, is charged with first-degree burglary. He was arraigned at Nassau County Court in Mineola.
The investigation previously resulted in the arrests of Irving Brenor, 18, of Queens Village; Jayson Jaya, 20, of Elmhurst; Giam Leal-Cardenas, 19, of College Point; and a 17-year-old juvenile.
Brenor was charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree robbery, second-degree burglary and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
Jaya was charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary and second-degree robbery.
Leal-Cardenas and the juvenile were each charged with second-degree burglary, second-degree robbery and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
The three adult defendants were scheduled for arraignment Nov. 14, 2025, at First District Court in Hempstead. The juvenile was arraigned Nov. 13, 2025, in the court’s Youth Offender Part.
The charges are accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
