Nassau County police are seeking a 34-year-old woman accused of assaulting someone with a weapon or instrument in Hempstead.
Tyshanay Jackson is wanted on a second-degree assault allegation involving intent to cause physical injury, according to a Nassau County Police Department Mugshot Monday notice.
Police did not identify the alleged weapon, provide information about the victim or disclose whether anyone required medical treatment.
Jackson is described as a Black woman with brown eyes and multicolored hair. She is approximately 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs about 113 pounds.
Separate Nassau District Court records under Jackson’s name show she was arrested by Hempstead Village police on June 27 and charged with second-degree criminal contempt for allegedly disobeying a court order.
Jackson pleaded not guilty during her June 28 arraignment and was released on her own recognizance, according to the court records.
During a July 21 court conference, a warrant was ordered, but its issuance was stayed. Her next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 27 before Judge David W. Wright.
The court listing provided does not include the second-degree assault allegation cited in the wanted notice, and the available materials do not state whether the two cases are connected.
Police warned members of the public not to approach, apprehend or detain Jackson. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to send Nassau County police a message. Police said messages will be forwarded anonymously.
