Hauppauge Bar Deemed Unsafe During SLA Inspection, Bartender Cited

A Hauppauge pool hall and sports bar was deemed unsafe for occupancy after authorities reported numerous liquor, electrical and fire code violations during an inspection Friday night.

Suffolk County police said Fourth Precinct Crime Section officers inspected Felt / 1823 Bar & Lounge at 573 Smithtown Bypass at approximately 10:35 p.m. July 3. The inspection was conducted with the New York State Liquor Authority and the Town of Smithtown Fire Marshal in response to numerous community complaints.

Police said the inspection uncovered numerous State Liquor Authority violations.

Bartender Ethan Semevolos-Bullock, 29, of Kings Park, was issued a field appearance ticket for two counts of first-degree unlawful dealing with a child.

The State Liquor Authority also cited several violations and issued summonses, according to police.

The Smithtown fire marshal reported numerous electrical and fire code violations and determined that the location was unsafe for human occupancy.

A criminal charge is an accusation. The defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

The Suffolk County Police Department announced the inspection and citations in a July 4 news release.
